In the dead of night
It's been a busy day.
It's been a trying day, as everyday is at the moment. I am exhausted physically and emotionally.
After a long hot shower I drop onto the bed dressed in my jimmie jams and can't wait to drift into unconsciousness and get some much needed rest.
And as my racing mind starts to drift in and out of peacefulness, and my body's last waking muscle drifts into unconsciousness, the shrill ring of Charlie's mobile wakes me from my slumber.
He answers it in a semi conscious state, not really comprehending who he is speaking with.
"Hello"
"Hi. It's just me."
"Mmmmm"
"I just called to see if you are OK"
Am I dreaming? No.
Yep you guessed it. It was the mistress AGAIN. She called in the dead of night last night.
So today I had another busy day. I read recently the best way to fight fire is with cold water.
Well I am icy cold because today I changed Charlie's mobile phone number!
Is it just me, or now that the fire has been extinguished, is it cold in here?

I am glad your in control Kate, you have done exactly what had to be done, sometimes people find it too hard to burn the bridges completely and need someone else to finish the job for them..

Well I’ll be. I would never have guessed changing the number would be necessary, but I guess if the whore won’t go away on her own, for her own pride and sense of self esteem, then you had to do what you had to do. I’m glad you took decisive, low impact action.
See the point is not to let her get under your skin or your potential reconciliation. Changing the phone was quick, efficient and effective. I really must complement you on that Kate.
I’ve been watching your Blog and communicating with Solaris and I am shocked at how far these mistress’ are going. There is no excuse for this at all, except possibly an obsessive mental illness.
I would suggest that you see what form of protective order you can get to keep this obviously disturbed woman away from your whole family. Harassment and verbal threats or obsessive behavior should be sufficient cause. Maybe there is a local woman’s group that can assist you with doing this.
Someone this obsessive could become a threat. I don’t mean to worry you, it may be a slim chance, but why not kill two birds with one stone, address the threat and get her peacefully out of your life.
You could stress to Charlie how any help or proactive action in this regard would help reduce your stress and improve relations.
Good luck Kate, and I hope you can continue to find solutions like this one that minimize the impact to you or your reconciliation.
BTW, calling in the middle of the night should easily qualify as obsessive and harassment.
As for the feeling in the room. It should be warm, Kate, congratulate yourself on how well you handled it. Realize that she will be calling that old number a bunch of times in disbelief that it has changed.
You did good. Be warm and comfortable in that knowledge.

Well guys I have to laugh because within 30 minutes of my post going up 'someone' called the old number and hung up within 1 ring.
And of course it was a 'private number'.
So is she reading my blog.....I can only assume she does.
And you see it is a VERY difficult thing for Charlie to change his number because of his work so I now have his old number and will be giving his new number to those that ring on the old service.
So it is still connected, but in MY possession.
JQ - both birds hsve been dealt with. So any further calls will be addressed within the law.

I was going to ask why he had not changed his number? Don't you think it saids alot that you did it for him instead of him doing it as soon as he broke it off with her? It was another way of him showing you that he is determiend to cut her out his life.But he didn't do it, you did. I hope she never gets the new number.

As for answering it he was in an unconscious state. He thought it was a dream the following morning until he checked the call log on his phone.
lily - it is a really difficult thing to just change his mobile number because he is so dependant on it for his work and so many important people and organisations have his number. To just disconnect it would have a huge impact on him and his job. We had always discussed changing the number but conceded that it was simply too difficult.
Not anymore - cause I found a way! And Charlie was STOKED!

Here's the thing. You can change numbers, change addresses, heck you can even change appearances, but if she really wants to find Charlie, she will. Sad but true. So your best defense is 1) knowing the truth 2)knowing the laws in your area 3) a good counselor to help you deal with her sh*t!
